Mother

(Brand identity used across menus, loyalty cards, stickers, vinyl and signage)

A speciality coffee spot found in a former tea warehouse in the centre of Liverpool, Mother was named in honour of the family’s own mother. Evoking the era when Mother was in her prime, the colour palette was inspired by acid brights and psychedelia from the 60s which were used as the brief to commission artwork by Rachel Crowther. Elements of her paintings were selected for use as background textures. The avocado and eggs illustration was created by Dom Kesterton. The logo type was chosen to reflect Mother's friendliness, with quirky and unique letterforms that break from tradition to mirror her individuality.
